

At the tender age of 89 Vi left us on her own terms, just the way she always wanted. Born in Fairholme, Saskatchewan, the second youngest child to Jake and Katie Jansen. She lived her first 12 years in Meadow Lake before moving to B.C. Violet was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Ken, who passed away in 2014. She was also predeceased by her parents, her sisters Bertha Jansen and Kay
Worden, her brothers Dan, Henry, and Jake,and son-in-law Rick Sugden. She is survived by brother Lorne and her sister Lillian, her four children, Karen, Lynn, Craig (Ginny), and Nelson (Shannon) as well as ten grandchildren, Dan,Adrienne, David, Kevin, Sydney, Dustin, Jason, Pamela, Amanda and David. She was a proud great-grandmother to Matthew, Abby, Charlie, Charlotte, Audrey, Ruby, Nora, Emmerson,
Addison, Kaitlynn and Hailey. Vi also cherished the many memories and laughs along the hiking trail and socials with her fellow Easy Hikers. She viewed life from many mountain tops from Whistler to Hope. She had wonderful friends who made her smile daily. We will miss her love, laughter, and gentle guidance. A Remembrance of Life will be held February 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Boal Memorial Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. No flowers by request, if desired donations may be made to the St. Paul’s
Hospital Foundation.
