June 26, 1927 - November 17, 2016
Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday morning, November 17, 2016 in his 90th year, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Victor was the dearly beloved husband of Margaret June (nee Twizell) who pre-deceased him this year on January 17th. Victor & June celebrated a very sacred, genuinely loving marriage for 67 beautiful years and were the devoted parents of Donald Owen, Debra Louise, Dale Elizabeth and Daniel Andrew, their cherished 4 Ds. Victor was also the highly engaged, loving grandparent of Donna Margaret, John Patrick, Blake Victor, Adam Brett, Jonathan Victor, Stephen Edward, Kayla Eden, Katelyn Irene, Robert Lindsay, Kelly John and Carey Roseanne as well as twelve great-grandchildren. Victor was born in Montreal on June 26, 1927 to Alta Mae Brisbin Curtis and was the youngest brother to pre-deceased siblings Marguerite and Pauline. Victor will be best remembered as a thoroughly honest gentleman, a devoted advocate of righteousness, a trusted adviser in all matters of humanity, a deeply principled business consultant, a champion of the less-advantaged, and a gentle, genuine human being who always showed up when called upon, and whose sincere intentions were neither ever challenged nor doubted. Born and raised in Montreal, the lion's share of Victor's early professional career was spent with Sun Life of Canada and Royal Trust. He raised his family in their chosen home town of Mount Royal, where he thoroughly cherished the existing bounty of parks, ball fields and recreation facilities. It also needs to be mentioned that Victor was a devoted baseball enthusiast and was deeply enamoured of the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Montreal Royals and to comparatively exponential heights, his Montreal Expos. It could be well-argued that baseball was his life. With his beloved June forever by his side, Victor eventually settled in White Rock, BC where he peacefully enjoyed the latter portions of his life. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the amazing, kind, caring staffs at both Morgan Place and Peace Portal Lodge in Surrey, BC for making Victor's end-of-life years as comfortable and as dignified as possible. No service by request. Donations to Alzheimer's Society of Canada in his name thankfully accepted.
