Sheila Dalziel MacKay (nee Moore) passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on May 21, 2019 at the age of 93. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Donald, her three daughters, Judy (Mike), Cheri (Dave), and Heather (Jake), her nine grandchildren, and her twelve great-grandchildren.
Sheila was born on January 13, 1926 in North Vancouver and had an eventful and lively upbringing in Vancouver with her siblings Brian and Kathleen. She married her beloved Don in 1949 and they quickly started what would become a large and happy family.
Sheila lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and “GG”. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She enjoyed travelling the world with Don, particularly to Maui in February, and was generally successful in keeping him fed and out of trouble.
Sheila had a vivacious personality and made friends everywhere she went. She was famed for her (secret) peanut brittle dessert, her raspberry jam, her chocolate chip cookies, and her blueberry pie. She was generous with her time and affection, a faithful Christian servant, and adored by dogs and cats. Sheila was well loved and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church.
