Born September 30, 1940, Sandra Dawson was fierce, funny, and very strong. For 30 years she fought breast cancer and won. At the same time, she also raised 3 children, had a successful teaching career at Collingwood School, travelled 5 continents, and treasured 3 grandchildren and countless friends.
On the evening of her 81st birthday, she enjoyed a glass of wine with family before telling them that she was ready to go: a few days later, she died the same way that she lived – full of conviction, surrounded by family.
Sandra was the beloved wife of Kenneth; proud mother of Russell, Carrie (Anthony), and Geoff (Sarah); devoted grandmother of Quinn, Connor, and Gus; sister of Sheila (Fred); daughter of Pearl Delbridge Ellen and David Ellen; and friend of many. She was our rock.
