Our beloved husband, father, brother and uncle left us on April 2nd, after a ferocious battle with cancer. Born and raised in North Vancouver, Rob was a strong character who lived life large, whether at work or play. He loved travel, had friends across the globe and always took time to ensure that they knew they mattered. His robust and sarcastic sense of humor has guaranteed that we will remember him with a smile.
Rob was energetic, creative and generous. He spent his working life in the food & advertising industries and proved himself a dedicated and accomplished leader. As a winner of multiple awards, he and Signy enjoyed great adventures. At home, they were welcoming hosts, sharing their passion and skill for gourmet cooking and fine wine.
He loved summer and on Wednesday nights, he was a heavy hitter in his ‘beer drinking league with a softball problem’. Hallowe’en was his favorite time of year. His outdoor decorations would transform the family home and beckon a host of callers. He was house proud and always had a challenging project on the go. Unfortunately, he never had the chance to enjoy and share his newly completed outdoor kitchen.
Rob is survived by Signy, his wife of 26 years and by their two children, Jordan and Matthew. They will miss him dearly and treasure his memory always.
An unforgettable celebration of his life will be held as soon as circumstances allow.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.firstmemorialnorthvancouver.com for the Sayer family.
