It is with great sadness we share the passing of Perry McKay. A devoted husband, father, grandpa, son, sibling and friend. Perry passed away suddenly but peacefully in May. He is survived through his wife of 40 years Sara, two daughters, Amanda (Chris) and Samantha.
His three grandchildren, Rylee, Owen and Sean. His Mother Clara (Floyd), his brother and sister and many nieces & nephews.
His life started in Thompson, Manitoba, and many moves later he settled in Prince Albert, Sask where he began to pursue his career in Culinary Arts. Soon after, he met his wife Sara and started a beautiful family. Later they relocated to Saskatoon and eventually to North Vancouver, BC. Perry enjoyed many things in life, including photography, music (RUSH being his favourite band) handyman work, trying new foods, movies, classic cars and spending time with his family.
Perry’s passion for travelling led him on a cruise to Alaska. He enjoyed it so much he went on another 9 more, always with his favourite travelling companion, his daughter Samantha. He was also able to share his love for Alaska with his sister, nephew, mother and Floyd.
Perry was a very skilled craftsmen. He enjoyed designing, building and creating new things. His life long best friend Craig and him shared many times together in the “shop” designing and building various things.
Perry had three grandchildren who adored spending time with him. He was always excited to work on new projects with them like assembling birdhouses, tie dying, cooking, baking, and so much more. He was the guy they went to for any toy repair, building or replacing. Their time spent together will be cherished forever.
The sudden loss of Perry will be felt by many. He was a kind, caring person. Always smiling. Those lucky enough to have spent time in his company will understand. Words can not express how heartbroken his family is. He will be missed everyday.
In lieu of flowers please consider leaving a memory message about Perry.
