Paul Bernard Clausen was born in Fort McMurray on June 8th, 1946, and passed away on December 21st, 2022 at home in Vancouver, BC. He is survived by his wife Ruth, his children Paul Clausen Jr (Brian), Cary Clausen (Karen), Ted Benediktson, Derek Benediktson (Kathy), grandchildren Courtney Clausen and Caleb Clausen, his brother Thor Clausen (Sandra) and sister Pat Miller.
Paul loved the outdoors, from his youth in Fort McMurray sledding with his dog team, to raising his family and tending to his hobby farm West of Edmonton. After a successful career at PCL and then Ledcor, he spent his retirement years boating, fishing, crabbing and prawning in Lund, and caring for his bananas and pineapples in Maui. Paul was always at peace when he was with nature.
After losing his wife Lorraine, Paul and Ruth, two lonely people, started a new life together in Vancouver. For the next 30 years, they were inseparable. After exploring the world together, they settled down enjoying their grandchildren and spending much of their time in Maui, Vancouver, and Lund.
Paul was an incredible person who had the respect of all who knew him. He was the foundation of his family and admired by many friends. He was loving and supportive, and treasured his grandchildren, always proud to be their Papa. Paul truly lived a blessed life and touched so many people. He will be forever missed.
Paul will be honored at First Memorial Chapel on January 21st, 2:00 pm.
Address 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, BC.
