Amy was born on February 4, 1985 in Calgary, Alberta to proud parents Kerry and Betty Ho, and soon became an older sister to siblings Lauren and Kevin. In 2009, she married the love of her life Garreth MacRae. Amy wanted to be a mother more than anything else in life, and in 2015, her dreams were fulfilled with the arrival of Evie Panda. Pan, your mama is so proud of you. You were her everything.
Amy was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, educator and writer. She had a passion for bringing people together and celebrating all moments both big and small. She loved ‘rocking out’ at glow stick dance parties at home with the family, holding the mic at impromptu rap battles in the living room, and finding the playful side of life.
Amy was an advocate for funding and awareness of low grade serous ovarian cancer, a disease that disproportionately kills young women, many who have little to silent symptoms. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to https://cureourovariancancer.org/ca/campaigns/amys-living-legacy/ where funds will go directly to the BC Cancer research team working to find new ways of fighting this disease. We hope that Amy's advocacy will mean future women won't have to suffer the same fate.
She is loved by so many and we thank you all for the outpouring of love and support.
Love Forever,
Amy’s Family
