Abdollah Azarakhsh (Abby), 79, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 19, 1945 in Tehran, Iran he was a devoted husband, a cherished father, a beloved brother and a friend to many.
Abby’s life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family. He is survived by his adoring wife of 53 years, Efat Abbasi, and their three children: Mahyar, Mahta and Behshad. His children were the pride and joy of his life, and he took immense pleasure in supporting them through every milestone and accomplishment.
A man of boundless energy, generosity and kindness, Abby was a friend to all who knew him. His smiling eyes and warmth filled every room and he was the rock on which many relied, always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement.
Abby worked as a businessman for over five decades, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, resilience and tenacity that will continue to inspire his employees and colleagues. His passion for his work was evident in every project he undertook and he is remembered for his creativity, diligence, and unwavering integrity.
Beyond his professional achievements, Abby found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a lover of travel, aquariums, chess, backgammon, current events and nature. He often hosted family and friends for stays filled with laughter and love. His poetry readings were insightful and comforting and brought friends and family together in celebration of community and connection.
A burial service will be held at the Capilano Cemetery in West Vancouver on June 7, 2024 at 1 pm followed by a reception from 4-7 pm at the Pinnacle Hotel in North Vancouver.
Abby’s legacy of love, kindness, and integrity will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
