On May 18, 1945, Walter Louis Kishman and Frances J. Kishman gave birth to Walter “Dave” Kishman at Lorain, Ohio. Dave had two years of college at Lorain County Community College. Dave was drafted on June 28, 1967 and served until January 31, 1969. Dave went to the 9th Infantry Division, 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry. From there, he extended two months to go to the 43rd Infantry Platoon Scout Dogs. He came home on January 31, 1969.
Dave moved to Florida in 1969. He later joined the Riviera Beach Police Department in 1973. He served there until he retired in 1995. Being the typical man that he was, he couldn’t stay retired. He joined the VA police department a mere eight days later. He then retired from the VA in 2007. Due to Agent Orange, Dave truly gave his life to his country. He is survived by his daughter, Kelley, and grandson Micah.
Visitation for Dave will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4-6pm at the Howard Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach. Burial will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 1:45 p.m. at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL.
