Remembering you today Mom!  This was a birthday lunch celebration for you at Cafe Chardonnay!  You look happy!  I try to remember the good times!   Miss you and love you!

Thanks everyone for remembering my grandmother- Gogo Scott.   As a young child I will always remember the warmth of getting to go to Gogo's  house and the way she took time to admire us grandkids and let us know we were loved - what a great gift that has lasted a lifetime!   Movies, Holidays, and listening to Grandma talk in her familiar way...  I will always take with me the memory of Gogo sneaking our candy into the movie theatre with us.... I love the economy of that.  What a treasure it is and was to have her has family, I am proud to say.  I believe those who knew her regarded her as gifted and wise.

Dear Family, Your tributes and photos are beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I have fond memories and deep respect of your remarkable mother and grandmother. My children remember her too, as GOGO. She was a burst of energy always even at 95 fighting leukemia. I would always be amazed seeing her driving (barely visible), zipping through Publix and Steinmart. The last time I saw her was in the infusion room.  We sat next to one another and caught up on all the good times and great memories. I was amazed at her energy and strength at 95 and fighting leukemia.  She insisted she get me crackers - always caring about others.  I am sure you will miss her, but how wonderful you had her for so many years. We are sorry we missed her funeral. Our prayers are with you. Hyland Family (Brenda)

One thing I will always cherish about grandma is our New Years Eve get togethers.  For a few years, I would take my wife out to a nice dinner for New Years and I would stop by my Go Gos are the way home to watch the ball drop.  She always thought I was crazy for doing that, but I would have rather hung with her than hanging out at a packed bar or club or something.   Another one is I would spend the night when I was a kid and she would let me rent or watch on HBO horror movies like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St.  I remember watching a lot of the Friday movies for the first time at her house in that little spare family room.

When I was in high school, I realized at the last minute that I needed something like 100 hours of community service in order to graduate. Grandma somehow got wind of this and arranged for me to volunteer with her at the Gardens Hospital down the road. I'll never forget that time spent volunteering with her. Although she was in her 80s at the time, she zipped around that place and corralled all of the other volunteers with the energy that comes only from someone who loves what they're doing. It was a different side of grandma that I had never seen before. She knew where every supply was located in that hospital, knew everybody by name, and would always volunteer to wheel people out of the hospital to the curbside pickup. Just imagine an 80 year old woman wheeling a middle aged man that just had a colonoscopy back out to his car and then helping him get in! All in the insufferable Florida heat! Virginia was truly a force of nature, and she may or may not have fibbed about my volunteer hours on those timesheets ;)

Virginia was the BEST grandmother - or as some of the grandkids affectionately called her, "Gogo" - because all she ever did was go, go, GO!  She was the jazzercise queen, always so full of energy - picking us up from school or even taking us for an entire weekend while our parents were out of town.  She was a pusher of snacks and treats and sugary drinks and us grandkids just loved her for it.  She bent the rules when we were at her home, always allowing us to watch the shows our mom wouldn't let us watch at our own (shhh!).  Her house was a treasure trove - filled with hundreds of breakable bunny figurines. Oh! The hours I spent studying each of them and wishing I could play with them. I loved going to the movies with Gogo - the one thing you could always count on was that once the lights went low, you'd hear a crinkle from her LeSportSac as she unwrapped the candy she had snuck in so that she wouldn't have to spend money at the concession stand.  Gogo was the biggest Jimmy Kimmel fan!  When I moved to Los Angeles, she would update me on the latest episodes when we chatted. The show was also shot in LA and she loved that she could see what my weather looked like whenever Jimmy went out outside to interview people. Once I had my own kids, her big heart just expanded even more - she loved her great-grandkids and doted on them when we were in town. Over the phone, she loved hearing funny stories about life with them and she always had a similar story about her own four kids to share. It amazed me how she could remember so far back when I could barely remember what had happened the week prior.  Even at 95 she had the best memory!  Gogo, I love you so much and already miss you terribly! Grandma was always moving!  Going to say hello to someone. Going to get a picture of a memory she was telling the story of. Going to get everyone another helping or another drink. Going to get toys for the great- grand children. Going to tidy something up in the yard.  Even when she took a minute to enjoy her family and friends around her, she wouldn’t sit, instead she would lean up against the counter. When you tried to get her a chair, she would wave you off and start telling you something funny. Then she was off again.  
Because of the pandemic, she never got to meet our son, Wyatt, in person, but he has certainly taken after her. Can’t keep up with the little guy!

My love, prayers and condolences Phyllis, Bob and Family. Many memories through the years from Jr High School till now. We were pretty good kids, yet there were “times”’we tested your mom and dad! I guess it’s ok to share this, one of my memories was when we skipped school and I wrote many of your “please excuse Phyllis from school”… and I signed them You put in a history(?) book. I called to ask you for the notes on a test? Apparently your mom and dad got the book and ALL OF the notes fell out!! Your mom and dad met me in the driveway and …we’ll it wasn’t good. I was forbidden to hang out with you ever again! 🤣 so now after 55 plus years we are best of Friends. And I had many happy sweet conversations with your mom. I know you were a wonderful daughter Phyllis and I am deeply sorry for your loss💖 with love and sympathy 🙏
