Virginia Nancy Acosta born May 21, 1938, in Guines Cuba, died peacefully at home on October 14, 2023. She was born in the small town of Guines in the province of Havana Cuba. She was the second of four children.
She is predeceased by her parents, Pedro Enriquez and Juana Marquez, as well as her eldest sister, Migdalia Levy.
She was blessed with a happy childhood surrounded with family and lifetime friends. As a teenager she met the love of her life and future husband, Roberto E. Acosta Sosa MD. She attended the University of Havana, but was forced to leave after 2 years due to the political climate of the times. Her family was the center of her life.
She will be remembered for her extraordinary spirit and ever-present smile. Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, friend, and the strength of her extended family. She never missed her children’s events and continued that family support with her 11 grandchildren. You could always find her in the bleachers or audience for their events. She became the biggest sports fan of every college attended by her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her dedication to family, Nancy had a passion for travel. With her husband Roberto at her side she traveled Europe and North America extensively. She enjoyed seeing the beautiful things in this world. Although she never returned to her native Cuba, she instilled in her family a love and appreciation for her heritage.
She is survived by her husband, Roberto E. Acosta MD; her sister, Mauri Magaly Enriquez; her brother, Pedro D. Enriquez; brother-in-law, Jose Levy and sister-in-law, Mercedes Lamelas. She has three children, Lizet A. Guildford (James Guildford, MD), Roberto J. Acosta, MD (Ellen), Edward J. Acosta (Barbara). She is blessed with 11 grandchildren, Mary E. Stride, MD (H Parker Stride MD), Alexandra M. Guildford, OD, Stephanie A. Acosta, Katherine A. Hosinski, MD (Patrick Hosinski), Samantha E. Guildford, Elizabeth L. Acosta, Andrew J. Guildford, Margaret G. Acosta, Natalie J. Acosta, Jake E. Acosta, Kyle J. Acosta; and great-grandchildren, Martha A. Hosinski and Elizabeth P. Stride.

The family will receive guest, Thursday October 19, 2023 from 6:00 pm -10:00 pm at Howard–Quattlebaum Funeral Home 754 US-1 North Palm Beach, FL 33408. We will celebrate a Funeral Mass on October 20, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 10970 Jack Nicklaus Dr., North Palm Beach, FL 33408 followed by interment at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
