Todd Goodwin, 85, of North Palm Beach, FL died peacefully on April 19, 2017. He was the son of the late Philip Curtis Goodwin and Ellen Laura Todd of Rochester, NY. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy 1950 and Harvard College 1954, he worked for Bankers Trust, was a partner of White Weld & Co., managing director of Merrill Lynch, and lastly a partner of Gibbons, Goodwin, van Amerongen, a private equity firm. He was a director of numerous companies including Southwest Forest Industries, R.T. French, Specialty Equipment, Schult Homes, Rival Manufacturing, Robert Half International, Johns Manville, Wells Aluminum, Cornell Companies, Southampton Hospital, Peconic Health Corp., Madison Square Boys and Girls Club, and Merrill Lynch Institutional Money Market Fund. Of great importance to him was his devotion to family and friends. He is survived by his wife Ritchey, his daughters Alexandra Olavarria (Andreas) and Leslie Stonestreet (John), stepdaughters Elisabeth Frost (Robert), Amanda Ricciarini (Roberto), and Ritchey Howe (David), his stepson Robert Banker (Rhonda), his sister Patricia Sladden, and sixteen grandchildren. His first marriage to Beverley Benjamin ended in divorce. He was married for twenty years to Jacqueline Haswell who predeceased him in 2006. He was an avid skier who made many trips with his friends and family to Vermont, Colorado, Utah, Europe and the Canadian Rockies. He was also an active sailor and owned three cruising sailboats NORSAGA, PARLAY and WINDIGO, a 73’ yawl which he sailed in selected races in New England, the Caribbean and Mediterranean. A member of Lost Tree, The Everglades Club in Palm Beach, The Meadow Club and Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, he enjoyed tennis and golf, but when he claimed mediocrity in both he was told by his wife not to exaggerate.A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew's Dune Church in Southampton on Monday, July 3 at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Todd would wish contributions to Lost Tree Charitable Foundation or the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club.
