Ted Johnson aka Teddy or the lovable teddy bear passed away peacefully at home at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Marilyn Johnson (1934-2011). Beloved father of Susan Myers (Foster) and Sandra Seitz (Freddie). Pop Pop to grandchildren Barry Johnson, Wendy Oradat (John), Anastasia Taber (Lyndsay), Rick Seitz (Kaitlyn), Daniel Seitz (Kristen), Christopher Seitz (Ally); great grandfather to Lillianna Oradat, Axel Oradat, Aiden Elizabeth Webb, Ethan Webb, Liam Seitz, Hailey Seitz and Mikayla Seitz due June 2021.
Ted joined the newly formed United States Air Force in 1949. He was deployed to Korea and was a Korean War Veteran. He joined the NYC Police Department and quickly made Detective mostly serving the 105th precinct in Queens, NY retiring in 1975. He moved to Florida in January 1981, sold cars for a short stint then joined the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Department as a Bailiff for Palm Beach County Courts and retired in 2000.
Ted enjoyed boating and was the life of the party. He became a fixture at the New York Bar and Grill on US Highway 1 in North Palm Beach and was known to greet everyone in his designated chair out in front smoking his Swiss Pipe. He was larger than life and lived life to the fullest. He will be sorely missed by all.
