He graduated Palm Beach High and was a WWII veteran in the Navy.
He began Robert H. Andersen Masonry in 1951 and while a sought after sub-contractor specializing in block, brick and stone; he also obtained his General Contractors license in June 1989.
He was one of the original founders of the Florida East Coast Trowel Trade Contractors Association (Trowel Guild) with emphasis on the apprentice program. He was a trustee at Palm Beach Atlantic College, vital part and member of the North Family Branch YMCA and a long-time member of the Christian Business Men’s Association (CBMC).
Of all his accomplishments, his membership at Lake Park Baptist Church meant the most to him. Many will recall his kindness, smile and handshake when meeting him on Sunday as a church greeter, teacher, trustee and deacon.
Bob was an avid boater and fisherman. So much so that he and partners formed the Palm Beach Prowler Boat company, producing 36’ sports fishing boats.
Survived by wife June Andersen, son Mark Andersen, Daughter Cheryl Andersen Kalokerinos, son-in-law Tony Kalokerinos, his sister Doris Rice, brother Ted Andersen (wife Linda Andersen), 2 nieces Karin and Christine, and 2 nephews John and Chris Andersen.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 10 from 4:00-7:00pm at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center in North Palm Beach. A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:30am with a service to begin at 10:30am on Saturday, February 11 at First Baptist Church of Lake Park, 625 Park Avenue, Lake Park, FL. Interment will take place at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.
