Marilyn Copeland, age 69, died peacefully today after a heroic 13 1/2 year battle with cancer. Diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and a separate renal cancer tumor in her kidney on Valentine’s Day, 2002, she was an inspiration to many with her steadfast determination, unshakeable faith and positive attitude throughout her struggle.
Marilyn was a native of Tell City, Indiana, graduated from Tell City High School in 1964 and earned an associate’s degree at Indiana University in Bloomington.
She is survived by her husband Henry Copeland of Palm Beach Gardens Florida, her sister Sandra Collignon of Santa Claus Indiana, daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Jeff Mocho, and her two grandchildren Andrew and Emma Panek, of Bowie, MD.
A service will be held on Monday, October 26 at 1:00pm at First Presbyterian Church, 717 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen.
