after a sudden illness. Margaret was born on July 31st, 1929 in Glasgow,
Scotland. She was married at age 20 and, soon thereafter, welcomed to the
world two daughters that she adored....Ann Mary and Patricia Margaret. At
age 30, Margaret and her husband, Arthur, began an adventure when they
immigrated to America, the land of opportunity. They embarked on a life in
the airline community in Florida while happily raising their daughters and
staying involved in all things Scottish. All those kindred spirits in the Scottish
community remained friends for life. Margaret was the employee of the year at the Doral
country club where she was loved by the Doral family and the world’s top golfers alike.
After losing her beloved daughter, Ann, in a tragic accident she moved to West Palm Beach
to be near her daughter, Patricia. Her granddaughters Patricia, Kristin and Stephanie, along
with her grandson, Alexander were bathed in her love and her Scottish traditions. She lovingly
became known as Grandma Choo Choo to her great grandchildren,
Mackenzie, Emily and Gavin , because of her train trips to Orlando to see
them. She only just welcomed her fourth great grandchild, Olivia, to the
world with such love and excitement. Margaret was an exceptionally loving
and caring person with an amazing outlook on life and an unmistakable
twinkle in her eye (and more than a little mischief up her sleeve) not to
mention the adorable accent. She brought joy, laughter and happiness to
every one she encountered along with an offering of the best darn shortbread
cookies this side of the Atlantic. This Bonnie wee lass will be missed, loved
and remembered by her family and friends forever and ever.
A celebration of life will take place at 10:30 a.m. on July 31, 2018 (her 89th
birthday) at the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Palm
Beaches, 635 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach, Florida.
