Mabel was born on June 26, 1922 to Rev. Tom and Margaret Steenbergen in Middletown, OH. After graduating from Hamilton High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Edward Mullins and started a family. She went on to study Nursing and served as an LPN at Fort Hamilton Hospital and then in private practice for Dr. David R. Scott.
Being the daughter and mother of Church Pastors, she dedicated her life in service of the Church. Her servanthood was evident to all as she willingly did whatever was needed. She loved music and was an accomplished church pianist all her life. She volunteered and served in ministry at Christ Fellowship as a greeter, bulletin folder, food and hospitality team, and served in the nursery ministry well into her 80’s. She was active in many bible studies and was also involved in the Glory Riders motorcycle ministry. She had quite a pep in her step, even riding her grandson’s scooter in her 80’s. She continued to play her beloved hymns on the piano until the age of 95. For those that knew her well, her laugh was contagious, her love was genuine, her example was inspirational and her dedication to her family was exceptional. Leaving a family legacy of faith in Jesus was so very important to her. Her hope has become a reality as every generation after her is faithfully following Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Edward Mullins and Glenn Blanton, and brother, Rodney Steenbergen.
She leaves behind two siblings, Fran Durbin of Hamilton, Ohio and Thomas Steenbergen of Melbourne, FL; two children, Ruthanne Kothari (Nikhil) and Tom Mullins (Donna) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; five grandchildren, Tamira Barnes (Jeffrey), Todd Mullins (Julie), Dilip Kothari (Yoko) and Noelle Mullins of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Shanu Kothari (Peg) of Greenville, South Carolina, and five great-grandchildren, Brianna Nourse (Dylan), Blake Barnes, Jefferson Mullins (Cassie Brickman, fiancé), Brittany Kothari and Samantha Kothari.
