Louise Nicklaus Barton was born to Walter and Margaret Nicklaus on April 5, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After a happy childhood she met the love of her life, Francis Barton, a midshipman at the Naval Academy, at the Army Navy game. They were married in 1946 and had an exciting military career, he a jet pilot and she an active navy wife. They had a wonderful marriage and traveled extensively until his death in 1994. An accomplished artist and always ready for an adventure, Louise loved painting, her family and friends, traveling, and champagne (not necessarily in that order).
Louise leaves behind many dear friends and her sons, R. Scott Barton, D. Casey Barton (Adrienne), Steve Barton, and Dan Barton (Gail). Her grandchildren, Kathleen Barton, Joe Barton (Lindsey), Bonnie Lewis (Brian), Tim Barton (Merigan) and Elizabeth Gagnon (Phillip), Jamie Barton, and 7 great grandchildren.
