John (Butch) Kubiak , 69 years old passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 after long and extensive illnesses. He was an accomplished trumpet player and member of the musicians union for many years, Past Commodore of Wide Waters Yacht Club Ottawa IL & member of The Moose 2010. He was an avid boater and navigated his boat to Florida in 1978 and opened up a family business General Garage door which his sons still run. More recently he loved riding his Harley Trike.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Susan of 47 years, sons Jack & Paul (Liz) Kubiak , daughter, Kristin Souza Melbourne Fl, Grandchildren, Kanitra Souza and Jake & Kelsey Kubiak and sister Karolee Finley (Troy).
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, may 20, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm with a 7:30 Scripture. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at St. Clare Catholic Church with interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
