Alice Jeannette Foley age 87 of North Palm Beach, FL passed away May 15th,2022. She was born on March 2,1935 to Joseph Louis Yates and Agnes Jeannette Yates. Jeannette was the fourth born in a family of eleven siblings. She lived on a rural farm in Clements, Maryland and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1952.
While working at the counter of a parts store, near the Patuxent River Naval Base, Jeannette met the love of her life. Dave Foley, A US Navy Aircraft Mechanic. The two were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Morganza, Maryland on November 25th, 1954.
Jeannette then moved with her husband to live in Butler, New Jersey. There she continued to be a loving wife, homemaker, and was blessed with 3 children (Winnie, Cheryl, Tim).
In September of 1969 the family relocated to the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida. Here she became an active member of St. Clare's Parish. She was a Eucharist Minister and member of the Women's Auxiliary.
In 1979, Jeannette became the secretary, bookkeeper, and receptionist, of D&J Appliance Repair Service. A company formed and run solely by Jeannette and her husband Dave. Together they served the Community for 20 years.
Jeannette and Dave retired in 1991. They spent their Summers in Maggie Valley, NC. They had a summer home built for themselves, family and friends to stay and visit whenever possible. This is where our mother's love of gardening was easily seen and enjoyed by all. She knew the name of every tree, shrub and flower that she planted in the garden surrounding her home.
Jeannette's other hobby was sewing. She enjoyed making Sunday dresses and skirts among other items for the home. Her BFF (Therese Sirignano) greatly supported the creativity. Therese was always a big help in choosing patterns, material and the sewing.
Our Mother's deep devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary was hard to miss. She became known as the Hat Lady at St. Clare's. She wore a beautifully coordinated hat to every mass on Sunday. This symbolized how thankful she was to be given a second chance of Life after suffering a severe stroke in the late 1990's. Jeannette made this promise to Our Mother Mary, "Please intercede my prayers to your son Jesus. I will find a way to honor you for the rest of my life. I am only asking to survive this stroke and live with my family here on Earth."
Jeannette is survived by her children and their spouses:
Winnie and Fernando Pinhal, Cheryl and Jim Atchison, Tim and Rani Foley.
Grandchildren Morgan Flowers, Brittney Stewart, Natalie Pinhal, Rachel Atchison, Justin Atchison ,and Ashley Foley. Great Grandchildren, Maxwell David and Ella Rae Flowers. Jeannette also has many living relatives and friends from Maryland and Florida.
