Jacqueline Casey

Jacqueline (Burns) Casey, 84, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away gently in the loving care of her family, on Sunday, November 28, 2010. Her family wishes to thank all of the angels who cared for her toward the end. Born in Montclair, NJ, she was the only daughter of Elmer “Pop-Pop” and Elizabeth “Mingy” Burns. She was a distinguished graduate of Oak Knoll School and worked as an airline stewardess and model.

Her lifelong love of the game of bridge made her an excellent partner and worthy opponent. Though an avid reader, accomplished cook and a fine fisherman, her greatest delight was spending time with her family. “Grandma Jackie”, as she was affectionately called by her 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many others, served as the matriarch of our Casey clan. With the help of her outstanding physicians, she was blessed with excellent health that allowed her to travel, attend and enjoy many family celebrations.

For 57 years, she was the beloved wife of copywriter William J. Casey, who preceded her in death. They were devoted parents to five surviving children, Sharon Casey Tormey (Ted) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Eileen “Ike” Reid of Hobe Sound, FL, Betsy Ross (Dean) of Charlotte, NC, Dan Casey (Chelie) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Paul Casey (Annemarie) of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by her dear cousins Evelyn Mayer Hummel, Audrey Burns Gates, Richard Mayer (Diane), and many cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to KinderMourn, in remembrance of her grandchild, Danny Pallick, and her cousin Kathy Palagonia, whom she lost during her lifetime, yet now has found.

Friends of Jacqueline B Casey will be received on Friday, December 10, 2010, from 5:00 to 7:00PM, at the Howard-Price Funeral Home, 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL, 33408. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 1:00 PM, at St. Clare Catholic Church, 821 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach, FL, 33408. Entombment will follow the Mass at the Boca Raton Cemetery, 451 S. W. 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, FL 33432.
