I met Glenn and his family 52 years ago when I married his cousin Steve kent.
I have many fond memories of special occasions spent with the family.

As a young real estate broker just starting out in my early twenties Glenn absolutely changed my life. Not long after I started my own discount real estate company on Long Island I started hearing commercials on the radio. “Hi I’m Glenn Cohen founder of Your Home Direct.com Home of the 2% Real Estate Commission” I couldn’t believe it! Someone was doing the same thing I was doing but they were in NJ and obviously had a lot of funding. After a few months of hearing these commercials I learned that Glenn was going to be speaking at the Sheraton Meadowlands. He was the panel speaker for Joe Connelly WCBS 880 Small Business Breakfast, the date was June 7TH 2001. I bought a ticket and went to the breakfast. Back in those days I wore a shirt with my company name on it. “National Discount Real Estate Brokerage” I was young and naive, never even bothered to go on the “World Wide Web” to learn anything more about Glenn. This ultimately worked in my favor because as I was sitting at the table with a bunch of traditional Realtors who were not happy with commercials that Glenn was running at the time, poking fun at the traditional 6% Real Estate Commission this guy walks up to me and asks about my shirt. He had a purple and yellow button on that was a  big 2%. I said “oh you must be one of the agents that work for Glenn Cohen. I came here from Long Island to hear him speak” He looked at me and said “I am Glenn Cohen” he took me to the back of the room, talked to me for a few minutes and gave me his assistant Ana’s number. He said “I want to see you in West Long Branch next week, call Ana and schedule it” Before I knew it I was the Broker of Record and VP of Sales and Operations for the original real estate disruptor! I’ve always stayed in touch with Glenn and would often tell him that if it wasn’t for what I learned working with him I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so sad to hear that we lost Glenn. I loved him and he was the best mentor I could have ever asked for in my for

I met Glenn back in 2016 when I attended Beach House Center for Recovery as one of the first group of patients to go through the program. Glenn was very hands on in the community and ran every morning spirituality meeting. He knew most if not all patients by name. I specifically remember Glenn’s upbeat personality and his love for the beach. About a year after meeting Glenn, I was offered a job at Beach House and was able to get to know him even more. I can not only say that this man changed my life forever, but I looked up to him for many years. I also know that MANY lives were changed because of this man. I am forever grateful to Glenn for not only the opportunity to get sober but also the opportunity to start a career that I love. Thank you Glenn

Glenn loved his son so dearly- his son is just like him- a heart of ongoing joy for life.

This was Glenn… he loved the beauty of the world, wanted to share it with everyone- his spirit was contagious.  We had gone for a nature walk with the kids and I…I looked up and there he was- the shining light of god and love. 

My heart is sad today hearing the news of Glenn’s  passing.  Glenn gave me an unbelievable opportunity at yourhomedirect.com and I was forever grateful for his faith in me.  May you RIP, Glenn.

He was the love of my life, best friend and person I looked up to and adored more than anyone on this earth. 

“When you love someone you trade souls. When they die..a little piece of you dies. But that piece of them that’s in you gets to continue to live on through you. 

The time spent with Glenn and his kids was the most special time of my life. He made these beautiful memories something that will never be forgotten. My only wish was that he could have seen what they saw and what I saw in him. I loved him from day one, I cherished his kids- that time with all of them- is time embedded in my heart and soul forever. 

Glenn loved his children more than anything- the time we shared together with them was the best times of my life. He gave them the love he never received growing up- his passion for them made me love him more.

The beach was Glenn’s most sacred place where he could escape the stress and struggles of the world. We would come here and watch the sunrise, pray, meditate and hold hands- in these moments everything was ok.
