Al was born on December 20, 1935 and raised in Riviera Beach. At an early age, he continued his family heritage of commercial fishing and was employed many years with Hudgins Fish Company. He was politically involved with the City of Rivera Beach where he held a seat on the City Council. In later years he owned and operated several seafood establishments in Florida and Louisiana and also a Marina Store in Riviera Beach where he was a Dock Master.
Al had a talent for singing and country music was his passion. As a young adult his ventures took him to Nashville, Tennessee where he worked alongside many famous country star legends as a Record Handler at the Grand Ole Opry. In recent years he loved to sing karaoke at Uncle Al’s Hideaway, a bar that he owned in WPB. Al spent the past 15 years working in the construction industry as Vice President of Titon Builders Inc. with his nephew Rocky, and was known as “Uncle Al” to many business associates and construction workers across southeast Florida.
Al is now resting in peace with his parents; Ernest and Euphemia “Gussie", and siblings; Fredrica (Tarry), Ernest Jr., Gilbert (Violet), and Delores. He was a loving husband to Faye, and a wonderful father to Debbie (Bobby), Ronald (Jodi), Gail (Ray), Buddy (Lynn) and Deidra (Evy). He was a proud grandfather to Beau, Darryl, Blakely, Taylor, Wesley(Nicole), Bradley(Amy), Jeremy, Ashley, Matthew, Brittany and a great grandfather to Gavin, Lane, Sophie and Addison. Al has many cherished nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends; especially Troy Senior and her family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 4 from 5:00-8:00pm at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 754 U.S. Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5 at 11:00am at St. George Episcopal Church, 21 W 22nd Street, Riviera Beach, FL 33404.
Al enriched and touched many lives to all that knew him. His love and outgoing personality will be greatly missed .
