Elizabeth Queen Hagan Cioffoletti, aka "Beth", "Betty Queen" and "BQ", 73, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away on June 26, 2024 of complications of long Covid and metastatic breast cancer. Born on August 30, 1950, in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of Edwin Montgomery Hagan and Anna Elizabeth Queen, both of whom were descendants of the Catholic Maryland colonizers who migrated to central KY in the late 1700s. Mrs. Cioffoletti grew up in Bardstown, KY. She attended Spring Hill College (Mobile, AL) and the University of Dayton (Ohio).
Mrs. Cioffoletti was a technician and professional consultant throughout the early years of computer technology, working as a medical and research lab technician, electronic technician, Integrated Circuit Layout designer, teacher, graphics and website designer. She loved writing and photography. She was part of the Catholic Peace Movement from its inception in the 1960s, and served as Communications Coordinator and Webmaster for the regional state group: Pax Christi Florida. She maintained a practice of contemplative prayer and meditation. She was active with many social justice issues, particularly criminal justice reform.
Mrs. Cioffoletti is survived by her husband, John Cioffoletti (Palm Beach Gardens, FL), her son, Eric Cioffoletti (Lehigh Acres, FL), a grandson, ALexander Nicholas Cioffoletti, her sister, Florence Anne Felsen (Wellsville, NY), nephews, great nephews and a great niece.
The Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Ignatius Cathedral in Palm Beach Gardens, FL on Saturday, July 13 at 10AM.
A burial service will be held at St. Joseph's cemetery in Bardstown, KY.
