Barbara M. Chapin of Palm Beach Gardens died February 10, 2010 of complications from non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She was 67. Barbara had been a long time resident of the northeastern Pennsylvania area, prior to moving to Florida in 2001. She was the daughter of Alexander S. and Mary B. Siock Gorny, both deceased. She was born in Scranton, PA and graduated from Scranton Central High School. Barbara received her RN from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, her B.S in nursing from Marywood University, and her Masters in Health Care Administration from the University of Scranton. She served as a school nurse in the Scranton Public School System until her retirement in 2000. Barbara and her husband, Scott, moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL in 2001. She became active in the PGA National Women's Golf Association, serving on various committees and as an Officer and President of the organization. She also was Co-Chairman of the Ladies' Cancer Tournament. Barbara and Scott enjoyed travel within the US and to Europe and the Caribbean.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Chapin; a son, Michael P. Weber of Blue Bell, PA; a daughter, Kimberly A. Domiano of Old Forge, PA; a brother, Alexander Gorny of Arlington, VA and Palm Beach Gardens, FL and six granddaughters, Katrina and Francesca Domiano, Bailey, Julie, Logan and Peyton Weber. Friends may call on Saturday, February 20, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM in the afternoon at the Howard-Price Funeral Home, 754 US Highway One, North Palm Beach, FL. Services will be held on Saturday at 2:30 PM at the Howard-Price Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Research Program, Jupiter Medical Center, Jupiter, FL. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Scranton, PA.
