

She is predeceased by her parents, Clarence A. and Edna M. Obringer.
She moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her parents at age three. She was blessed with a happy childhood and life surrounded by family and lifelong friends. After graduating from Stranahan High School, she went on to study at the University of Florida and later Florida State University. She met her husband John C. Walker at the age of 15 and later met him again on a blind date at the age of 20. They were married 55 years, creating a lifetime of memories.
She lived a life defined by deep love. Arlene was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and the absolute strength of the family. She was a devoted Mother and Nana dedicated to her children and grandchildren. Her family and friends were the center of her life. She was a fierce advocate for her son Nicholas and spent time volunteering and counseling new parents of children with Down Syndrome. She had a talent for being able to comfort anyone when they needed it most. She had a beautiful gift for storytelling and her bright smile and sense of humor lit up a room. She will be remembered for her selfless spirit and giving, always putting others’ needs before hers. Her generosity knew no bounds.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Walker, her sister Judith A. Townes, her children Alison N. Mischke (Troy), Christina D. Highfield, Nicholas C. Walker, Adam J. Walker (Natalia). She is blessed with seven grandchildren, John F. Mischke, Riley F. Highfield, Daniele N. Mischke, Lindsey A. Highfield, Caroline V. Mischke, Walker T. Highfield, and Cole B. Walker.
A Funeral Resurrection Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33410.
