After the war, Al, his parents and older brother come to the USA and settled in Detroit Mi. Al received his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit, a Jesuit University. The first half of his professional life he worked for the Dept of the Army as a civilian engineer on various Army automotive vehicles. His last position was on the XM1 Tank Project (M1 Abrams), during the initial research, development and initial production. His last job was the Program Manager reporting directly to the project’s Major General. The second half of his career he was co-owner of a construction company with Tom Alberts. The company built large custom homes in Bloomfield Hills Mi. and the surrounding communities.
Al is survived by his brother, Leonas Jokubaitis; two nieces, Leanne Jeffery and her husband Jay and Lisa Capouellez and her husband Jim; his spouse and life partner for 51 years, Tom Alberts; his brother, Jim Alberts and sister in-law, Pattie; his sister-in law, Helen Alberts; eight grand nieces and a grand nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral Cremation and Event Center, 754 Us Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
