Robbie J Berry

Robbie Jr Berry, son of Mr. Sol Berry and Late Ms. Ethel Neil, he was born on November 24, 1948, in Dothan, Alabama. In 1968, he relocated to Miami, Florida. In the 1970’s he met his soulmate who he later married in 1991 the beautiful Mary Ann Berry who stole his heart. He found a career at the City of Miami Solid Waste. It later paid off he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent; he received many accolades for his hard work and dedication. Robbie was a devoted father who loved his family, he was a protector, and he was definitely loved by many. In 2002, he retired from his position at the City of Miami after thirty-two years of service. He was a hardworking man who loved to work. Robbie was a selfless individual who loved giving back. He loved helping others. During the holidays, he would cook food for the homeless. He always found a way to give back to the community. Robbie was very fashionable and loved to look good and smell good. Whenever he stepped out, he made sure he made a statement. Robbie was very known in his community, because of his boastful personality and the love he had for people. To really know him is to love him as people will say. His love for God was among one of his best traits. Robbie had all his daughters in Church every Sunday and even had them sang in church choirs their youth years. Robbie was a dedicated member of New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Moses. L Paschal. He became a Deacon not long after. Heaven has surely gained an angel you maybe gone from sight, but you are never gone in our hearts.

On the night of February 06, 2024, Robbie Berry earthly journey ended when an angel of mercy called him home to be with his heavenly father. He took his final breath at home with his loving wife. Robbie will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. The late Robbie Berry will be remembered best for his charming ways and his love and loyalty to his family, friends, and his big smile.

Today, he leaves to remember his love and legacy: stepmother: late Lucia Berry; daughters, Qonsheka Smith (Arthur Smith), Christine Moore (Kevin Moore), Robin Berry (Kelvin Hollinger), Latricia Mitchell (Jerald Mitchell), Teriyaki St. Aubyn Meikle (Donald St. Aubyn Meikle), Latoya Pollock (Charles Roberts); son: Robert Berry (Late Lavetria Berry); siblings, Katie Bell Simmons (Gerald Jones), Brenda Wallace (Edward Wallace), Minister Mae Paden (Germonia Paden), Cassie Berry, Dinnia Mae Battles; brothers: Charles Berry, Floyd Berry (Debra), Dec. Nathan Battles (Bobby Battles), Pastors John Battle (Angie Battle), Robert Reglin (Ernestine Reglin), Late Robert Berry. He leaves behind twenty- eight grandchildren, five great- grandkids, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Today, let us not dwell on the sorrow of his departure, but let us celebrate his life, his love, and his spirit. Let us remember him not just as a friend, but as an inspiration, a guiding light. Let us carry his memory in our hearts, live his teachings through our actions, and spread his love in our lives. As we say goodbye, know that his legacy of his strength and inspiration will continue to guide us.
