Mario Viloria Sr.

Mario is lovingly remembered by his four children: Meryene and his son-in-law Freddy of Tampa; his daughter Marillin of Miami; his son Mario Jr. and his daughter-in-law Cynthia of Orlando; and his daughter Alexa of Miami; his six grandchildren: Mario Anthony III and his wife Roxanna, Cristina, Jordan, Ashley, Alyssa and Nicholas; as well as his two great-grandchildren Lucas Mario and Luna Sofia. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mercedes Sofia Viloria.

Mario Viloria Sr. was born on November 15, 1935 in La Entrada de Cabrera, Dominican Republic to Zoila Bonilla and Manuel Viloria. He married Mercedes, the love of his life (his “Morena”) in 1966. He wanted a better future for his wife and family, so in 1968 he ventured to the big apple- New York City. There he made lifelong friends that became family. His life is a testament on how hard work and determination can lead to achieving the American dream. He would say “I do not have much, but my inheritance is the support that I give to you children, so you can get an education and do better than me”. All his hard work and sacrifice paid off since he was proud to boast that all four of his children were college educated.

A gathering of family & friends will be held on Monday June 1st, 2020 at Caballero Rivero Funeral Home and Cemetery where he will be peacefully laid to rest alongside his beloved wife.
