Lucille Jackson was born on January 7, 1927, in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, Georgia, to the late Jessie James Jackson and Cleo Nealy Jackson. She was the youngest of three children. Her father later remarried Rocille Jackson, who was also instrumental in her upbringing.
At an early age, Lucille began to work in the cotton fields of Georgia. Later, she married Booker T. Hudson, and after this union, they had three sons: Larry, Freddie, Bobby. For better work opportunities, she followed her father to Miami, Florida, where she found employment with Miami Laundry as a shirt folder. After this, she was employed at Coral Gables Laundry as a shirt folder. Wanting to better herself, she became employed at Mt. Sinai Hospital on Miami Beach in the department of environmental services, where she retired.
With hard work and sacrifice, she provided for her two sons, of whom she was very proud. Lucille was a quiet and kind person, and she spent her off time caring for her home and family.
On Sunday night, February 11, 2024, the Lord whispered to His beloved child, Lucille Jackson, to come home and rest. Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”
Left to cherish her legacy of love and precious memories: her son, Freddie Jackson (Marsha); her granddaughters, Carla S. Jackson and Quinyuar Nixon Jacob; her grandsons, Robert Quincey Hudson and Wade Hudson; her great-grandson, Jamari Smith; her daughter-in-law, Ann Hudson; her special friends, Mrs. Lena Collier and Florene Porter; and a host of other sorrowing family and friends.
