Dwight Winston Bruton was born on January 24, 1953 to Emma Lee Bruton in Toledo, Ohio. At an early age Dwight attended New Mount Zion Missionary Church. Dwight received his formal education in Miami, Florida at Miami Jackson Sr. High School. Later he met Brenda Corner, and they were blessed with their beautiful daughter Dw’yia Wyonna Bruton.
Dwight was an assistant manager at Church’s Chicken in Miami, FL.
Dwight was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, one of the NFL’s greatest football teams. He was a patient at Jackson Memorial Long Term Care Center for 16 years. One of his favorite places to hangout at the center was the outside patio.
On Sunday, May 19, 2024, Dwight answered the Master’s call.
Dwight is survived by his daughter Dw’yia W. Bruton of Miami, FL; 2 grandchildren, Jason Smith, Jr. and Darrius Hunter of Miami, FL; 4 brothers, Charles (Sally) of Akron, OH, Rickie (Cassandra) of Miami, FL, Robert (Hannah) of Miami, FL, Alphonso (Patricia) of Deerfield Beach, FL ; 2 sisters, Luenette of Atlanta, GA, Emma of Miami, FL, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Emma Brown, 1 brother, Calvin Wyche and 2 sisters, Angela Gause and Bernice Brown.
