

Dorothy spent her early childhood in Savannah, Ga., where she was raised by the late Leo and the late Emma Moore. In her early twenties she met and married Henry Ben Cooper. Henry and Dorothy relocated to Miami, Fl., where they raised their fifteen children.
Dorothy has been a member of Christian Community Center, which is now known as 93rd Street Community Missionary Baptist Church since its inception in October 1962. Dorothy was one of the first Mothers of the church. Dorothy attended and joined a few other churches, but found her way back to 93rd Street Community MBC and was a faithful member until her failing health prevented her from doing so. Dorothy loved the church and she loved serving the Lord. Dorothy gave her life to Christ on May 11, 1962 and she’s been enjoying Jesus ever since.
Dorothy’s husband the late Deacon Henry Ben Cooper proceeded her in death on May 31, 1984. Though Dorothy has departed the earth, she will always be remembered and remain in the hearts of her children: Sons-Henry(Earnestine)Jr. of NJ, Chaz(Cynthia) of the Philippines, Isaac(Henrietta) of Tx, James of Orlando,Fl., Abdul(Alozola)Rashaad of Ma., Gregory(Carolyn), Ronald(Kathleen), and Ben(Michelle) all of Miami, Fl. Daughters-Inez(Alphonso)Sawyer, Mary(Edmond)Little, Roberta Marshall all of Ga., Angela(Clurs)Harris, Dorothy(Ron) McCormick, Rev. Felecia(Rev. Alphonse) Wright, and Edwina Coleman all of Miami, Fl., fifty-six grand children, ninety-five great-grand children and twenty-one great-great grand children.; Brother-Corrie E. Moore of Illinois, Sister-Marietta Holloway of Louisiana; Brothers in law-Albert(Elnora) Cooper of Brunswick, Ga., and Irvin(Bertha) Cooper, Sr., of Miami, Fl.; Sisters in law-Mary Walker of Haines, Fl., Annette Bennett of Pa., Venus Holmes and Ellen Burton both of Brunswick, Ga. Dorothy also leaves to mourn cherished memories a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
