Richard was born in Oak Park, Illinois and arrived to attend the University of Miami when he was 16. During those years, he met his wife Sonya Pallot and they were married on January 25, 1953. They were married for 70 beautiful years, until her passing on February 3, 2023.

Richard and Sonya were an inseparable pair who provided dedicated leadership to the community, especially at Temple Judea, where he served as President. Temple Judea was a major part of their lives, where they inspired the importance of warmth and caring that continues today.
Richard began his professional career by achieving a perfect score on the CPA exam in 1954, for which he was awarded a national medal. He went on to practice law for 61 years, during which he gained a stellar reputation for tax planning. Clients, friends and family often sought his wise advice.
He was a gentle man who taught his family to be kind and honorable. We will miss him dearly.
