She had three other siblings Aurora, Elsa, and Alejandro. Only her little sister Aurora survives her.
She studied accounting in a technical high school and worked as Accountant her whole Cuban professional life.
She was a very good one, since there were no computers but only manual and manuscript accounting at that time.
She took an early retirement, and at 56 years old Maria decided to start a new adventurous chapter of her life by emigrating to the USA!
In her first American year, she learned English, because one of her Motus always was to learn whatever you can. After all, you will never know; that new knowledge will be useful later in your life.
The next learning endeavor was to graduate at 65 years old from Miami Dade College, revalidating her accounting experience.
Thereafter she worked again as accounting for several companies until she retired for the second time in her life in the USA at age 70!
Maria was the very coquette mother of three Cuban daughters; Maria, Belkis, and Berta. Grandmother of two German grandsons Johann and Antonio.
She has three pets she loved deeply in her life: Toby and Frida the dogs she will meet again now, and Charo the African-gray parrot with whom she shared her last few years.
Maria loved nature and cared about wildlife, she dreamed to have her own garden but she mostly realized that dream by taking care of others' gardens.
The most extraordinary talent Maria has been; to always help her daughters, family, and friends to realize their dreams or whatever projects they have, and she was also an extraordinarily talented cook!
Whoever tasted her "arroz-congris" the typical Cuban dish made of white rice and black beans; they were forever haunted by the particularly tasty way she used to do it.
She will be missed for all her joy and laughter, her sense of humor, her culinary talents, and her generosity.
May she rest in peace forever in heaven and in our hearts.
