June 15, 2024. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after enduring a long illness. Dee was
born on May 26, 1938, in Waukegan, Illinois, to the late Grace (nee Freemyer) and Boyd Taylor.
Dee is survived by her four children, Rena Simpson, Ryan (Traci) Will, Rhonda (Doug) Littriello, Robin
(Rocky) Skaggs; her grandchildren, Christian (Madeline) Simpson, Tyler and Riley Will, Layla and Willow
Skaggs, Christina and DJ Littriello; and her sister June Krapf. She is preceded in death by her parents, her
brother, Hal Taylor, sister, Jeannie Scheve, and father of her children, Robert P. Will, Jr.
Dee graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1956. She had been a majorette and had the
opportunity to perform with the marching band in the Rose Bowl Parade. After high school, she married
Robert Will, Jr. and stayed at home to raise their four children. During those years, they traveled the
world. Later, Dee began a career with Abbott Laboratories Employee Health. In 1996, after a 20-year
tenure, she retired to Bradenton, FL. She had a beautiful singing voice and sung for the church she
served for many years. In 2005, Dee returned to Lake County, IL residing in Grayslake to spend time with
her growing family, antiquing and working as a caregiver.
Dee loved to play golf, was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Dodgers, and loved
music, especially country music. She had a beautiful singing voice and sung for the church she served in
Bradenton. She had the opportunity to record a cover album of songs by Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn,
Barbara Streisand and Ray Charles.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Joseph Hadeed, the staff at Aston
Gardens, Parkland, and the staff at Vitas Hospice Services for the exceptional care and compassion they
provided Dee.
A private funeral service will be held in Gurnee, IL on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 for family members and
close friends. She will be interred at North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. The family
requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Dee’s memory
