Warren Crow, a beloved husband, father, musician, and community leader, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Warren made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him.
He was the son of Wallace H. Crow and Warrene Alford and graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1959. Warren went on to earn his degree from the Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) in 1964, supported by a scholarship that recognized his dedication and potential.
Warren was a charter member and elder of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Sherwood, where he contributed his time and talents generously. His career spanned many fields, including a decade as a regional educator with the Arkansas Lung Association, 27 years with the Arkansas National Guard performing in the 106 Army Band. Warren also served as the manager of the American Legion for nine years.
A professional musician from the age of 16, Warren left an indelible mark on the music scene. He was the leader of the popular band “Warren Crow and the Classic” and played on the Spirit River Boat and the Arkansas Queen River Boat for 12 years, where he garnered a dedicated fan club of 150 members. Until November 2023, he continued to share his love for music, performing with groups such as Steele Kickin’s (Country Band), “Blue Velvet,” (Rock/ Ballroom)“Greasy Greens” (Show Band), and “The Legendary Pacers” ( Rock & Roll Band).
Warren is survived by his devoted wife, Jan Crow; his sister, Linda Holmons; his sons, Jon Dillon (Liz) and Scott Crow (Dee); stepchildren Chris Neely, Kim Finne, and Jon Haver; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
His memberships included the Arkansas Jazz Club, a worthy President of the fraternal order of the Eagles; and the American Legion, where he was a Post Commander. Warren was also an active member of the Big Island Hunting Club.
Warren Crow will be remembered not only for his contributions to music and his community but also for his kindness, laughter, and love for his family. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday 09/27 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Sherwood, with all who knew and loved him invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Lung Association in his memory.
