Shelia Joy Crenshaw, 63, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Maumelle, Arkansas on February 17th from unknown causes.
Shelia was born in Ripley, Tennessee on June 11th, 1952 to Aubrey (Tommy) and Ruby Stanley. She has lived the majority of her life just outside of Memphis, Tennessee in Rosemark before relocating to Arkansas in 1998. She graduated from Frayser High School in 1970.
Shelia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bryson and Regina Crenshaw; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Trevor Tyler; her four grandsons, Christopher, Ryan and Sean, and Blake; Sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Robert Pelenio; Brother, Danny Stanley; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Ruby Stanley.
In a recent interview conducted by Blake, her grandson, for a school assignment, she was asked how she wanted people to remember her. She responded with “that I love the Lord, I was a good mom and nana, and that I put family first”. Anyone that knew this amazing woman would have to agree that these are accurate representations of her life. Shelia was a strong woman with the ability to overcome even the most difficult life events. She was caring and compassionate and never too busy to help anyone that asked. The world lost an angel on earth with her passing.
Although we do not know why she was taken so soon, we do know without a doubt that she was a devout Christian allowing us to rest assure about her final destination. She is in heaven without illness, without the need of medications, and without aches and pains. She is reunited with those that have gone before us and celebrating in the presence of the Lord.
Shelia’s life will be celebrated on March 19th, 2016 at 2pm at The Balcony located at 214 Quinton Dr. off of Hwy 51. in Mumford, TN 38058
