Sharon Jean Sledd

Sharon was born August 1, 1949, to Hazel Leoma (Johnson) O’Dell and Cecil Elbert O’Dell in DeQueen, Arkansas.

Sharon was a 1967 graduate of Little Rock Central High School. She was an avid fan of the Beatles, especially Ringo, and a lover of music, especially live music and dancing!

After high school, Sharon toured internationally with Up With People and lived a short period in Hawaii before returning home to Little Rock. She worked a variety of jobs over the years, but most loved the jobs of mother, grandmother and aunt. She also was a talented artist and calligrapher, and a free spirit whose smile brightened any room. To know Sharon was to have a generous forever friend.

Left to cherish Sharon’s precious memory are her daughters, Amy Eubank Reece and her husband Zane of Cumming, Georgia, and Allison Sledd Thomson and her husband Ryan of Cabot, Arkansas; grandchildren Chloe Elizabeth Reece, Lennon Daniel Darrah, David Zane Reece III “trey”, Peyton Audrey Darrah, and Zelda Rose Tomson; brother Larry O’Dell and wife Linda of Midlothian, Virginia; niece Shannon O’Dell West and husband J.D. of Midlothian, Virginia; and cousin Jim Johnson and wife Karen of Wimberley, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 beginning at 2:00pm at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, with a gathering of friends and family beginning the hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, Sharon’s family suggests donations in her honor be made to the American Heart Association.
