Ruth Marie Blasingame, affectionately known as “Dee Dee” to her family, 94, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Sunday April 9th, 2023. She was born in Mayflower, AR to the late James Riley Hooks and Elsie Mary Hooks. Marie was an avid homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a member of 47th Street Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
Marie is survived by her son, Ron Blasingame (Robyn) of Maumelle, one grandson, Spencer Blasingame, of Little Rock, one granddaughter, Allyson Jefferson, of North Little Rock, and two great-grandchildren, Joel and Benjamin.
She is also survived by her brother, James A. Hooks, of Sherwood, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends who loved her dearly.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Ovie Blasingame, and two sisters, Mada Stivers and Wanda Dean.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 14th, at 2:00 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on April 14th.
