Ruby Lee Dellinger, 97 , of North Little Rock, passed away April 13, 2024. She was born August 31 ,1926 in Avery, Texas to the late Henry and Daisy (Peaks) Cato. In addition to her parents, Ruby was welcomed into heaven by her siblings, stepdaughter Linda, her loving puppies, Buffy and Rocky, and her husbands, Sherman Glaze, Ed Pickthorne, and Lewis Dellinger.
Ruby embraced each day of her life with a spirit of faith and trust in the Lord. Her proudest moments were witnessing the success and happiness of her beloved family. She cherished her three "Mama's boys", who reciprocated her love by ensuring to spend cherished moments with her over a daily morning coffee. Ruby's zest for life was evident in her accomplishments as one of Arkansas finest women bowlers and her love for horseback riding in her youth. A devoted member of the Graves Memorial Baptist Church and a grand matron of the Eastern Star, Ruby lived a life rich in community and faith. She will be remembered fondly as a devoted wife, nurturing mother, doting grandmother, and a cherished friend.
Those left to cherish the memories of Ruby include her three sons whom she adored, Johnny (Dianna), Stephen (Kathy) and Michael Glaze (Ronnie Cates); her stepdaughter, Elaine; and known as Gran to her grandchildren, Chris, David, Tracee, Kelly, Catherine and Sherri, and great grandchildren, Jackson and Emily. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Griffin-Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Ruby will be laid to rest with her second
husband, Ed Pickthorne, at Rest Hills Memorial Park after the service.
