Funeral services for Rev. Richard Clyde “Dick” Moore, 85, will be at 2:00 PM Monday, June 6, 2022, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in Sherwood, AR, with Rev. Ronnie Rudd officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood, AR.
Rev. Moore left this world to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 1, 2022, at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, AR, after a brief illness. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church of Jacksonville, AR.
He spent his adult life as a Baptist minister sharing the Gospel with churches, nursing homes, shelters, citizens of far-off lands and individuals. He was a veteran of both the Navy and the Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow Wilson and Alpha Omega Moore; his aunts and uncles, Jack and Lorene Stroud, Josephine and Carl Redd, Vida Lee and David Taylor and Lavern Carnahan; his cousins, Sonny and Janette Pounders, Diane Bates, Grady Carnahan, Donny Miles, Gary Stroud and John Taylor; fellow ministers and friends, Garfield Foster, Calvin Squires, Bill Thomas, Johnny Carpenter, Mike Connell and Larry Ballard.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Jo Wilson-Moore; daughter, A. Gail Stephens and husband Darrell of Sherwood, AR; son, John D. Moore of Sherwood, AR; two granddaughters, Parker “Julia” Rush of Little Rock, AR, and Reagan Cummings and husband Casey of Little Rock, AR; cousins, Cecil “Sammy” Bates of Mayflower, AR, John “Johnny” Miles of N. Little Rock, AR, Frank “Maury” Pounders of Beebe, AR, Cindy Isreb and husband Neil of Punta Gorda, FL, Mark Lee Pounders of Little Rock, AR, Jack “Jackie” Stroud and wife Kim of Calhoun, LA, Sherry Cason and husband John Lindsay of Roberts, LA and other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brent Ernst, William Tanner, Warren Jones, Scoty Chism, Frank Pounders and Don Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be James and Roger Foster.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in Sherwood, AR. In lieu of flowers, donations to Samaritan’s Purse and/or Gideon’s International in memory of Richard C. Moore are appreciated.
