Known for her big, giving heart and taking care of everyone, Pat served her community for over 20 years as an amateur radio operator. She served as President of the National Weather Service’s Sky Warn program saving lives with her weather warning broadcasts. She was also an Emergency Coordinator for natural disasters, working with the American Red Cross, FEMA, local hospitals, MEMS, Fire and Police Departments as well as several other agencies. Her church class knew her as the Doughnut Lady and to Ham Radio operators she was the Goddess. Pat loved to cook, bake, and feed people. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. When she had a moment to herself she could be found reading. Her greatest passion though was her family.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Ridout; her brother, Denis, and her sister, Marcia. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband Jerry; her three children, Audrey; Jerry (Carol); and Brandy (Jason) as well as her granddaughter Robin, of whom she had guardianship; eight other grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Assembly of God, North Little Rock, on February 8, 2024 at 10:00 am. Guests are encouraged to wear Pat’s favorite color which was blue. Her final resting place will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Donations can be made to the Patricia Dixon Memorial Fund at US Bank or to a charity of your choice. Pat supported many charities such as the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, and her personal favorite, her missionary granddaughter, Robin Dixon.
