Mae Ruth Eades Faulkner, daughter of the late John Eades and Ora Cates Eades, was born September 19, 1933 in Formosa Arkansas and passed from this life October 23, 2017 in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 84 years. Mae Ruth grew up in Kennett Missouri and graduated from Kennett High School. On September 1, 1957 she married the late Wheeler Coolidge Faulkner of Lamar County, Alabama. Coolidge Faulkner was a baritone with the Stamps Baxter Melody Boys Quartet and often appeared on KARK television in Little Rock. Mae Ruth was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and attended the 6th and Izard Congregation in Little Rock for 47 years. Mae Ruth was a wife, mother, grandmother, friend and a retired school teacher for the Little Rock Public Schools. She was proud of the fact that she was able to save enough from her jobs at James Kahn Department store and the cotton fields in Kennett, Missouri to attend Harding College (class of 1957). She completed degrees in elementary education, a Masters in Administration from University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a specialist degree in reading. She is survived by two daughters and one son, Andrea Hackney married to Ted of Searcy, AR, Lori Huggins married to Fred of Jonesboro, AR, and James Faulkner of Jonesboro, AR; granddaughters Sarah Erwin and husband Patrick from Maumelle; Lauren Hackney of Fayetteville; grandsons Jonathan and wife Ragan Huggins of Nashville, TN; Dylan and wife Megan Huggins of Nashville, TN; one brother, Jerry Eades married to Michelle of Chattanooga, TN; one sister, Francis Gardner of Searcy, AR, sister-in-law Peggy Eades of Searcy, AR; and brother-in-law Bill Batchelor, and many other family members. She is preceded in death by her husband, Coolidge Faulkner, stillborn daughter Lisa Frances Faulkner, one brother Carrol Eades; one sister Dana Sue Batchelor, sister-in-law Diana Eades, and stillborn great grandson Patrick Charles Erwin, Jr. The family asks that memorials be sent to Charlie’s Hands and Feet, a 501 c(3) nonprofit in Little Rock, Arkansas that provides support to families who have experienced a stillborn child. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd, North Little Rock, AR 72117. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Brother John Gipson will be officiating.
