Karen Jill Averitt

Karen Jill Averitt, 76, of Scott, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Jill was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 10, 1944 to parents Russell Shelby Bredlow, Jr. and Merle Blann Bredlow. Jill was a member of the Levy Church of Christ and volunteered with the River City Ministry.

After graduating High School, Jill attended the Baptist School of Nursing, graduating with a degree in Nursing. She worked as an RN for Memorial Hospital and Baptist Medical Center (Springhill) for over thirty years, retiring in 2009.

Jill enjoyed spending time with and talking to her friends, loved walking and spending time with her animals. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Sonny & Merle Bredlow; brothers Ronny Bredlow and Rusty Bredlow and her husband, James Averitt. She is survived by her son, Mart Averitt, daughter, Becky (Neil)Tuner; daughter Mandy (Jackie Clinton) Schmitt; grandchildren, Haley Averitt, Joshua Schmitt, Ben Turner and Avery Turner; brother Gary (Pam) Bredlow , Tim (Carolyn) Bredlow and her sister, Ellen (Paul) Anders.

A private, family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Jill’s memory may be made to the River City Ministry, 1021 E. Washington Ave., N. Little Rock, AR 72114.
