

Joan C. Weddle , 75, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017. She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on February 21, 1942 to parents Samuel J. and Dora E. Hickson, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted member of St. Jude’s the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville for many years and volunteered her help with their card ministry.
Joan was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to quilt and made all of her grandchildren’s Christmas stockings by hand. She had a keen sense of humor and kept those around her laughing with her funny remarks and jokes. Her grandchildren will tell you that she loved butter pecan ice cream, coffee from Starbucks, gardenias, watching humming birds, cardinals and Wheel of Fortune. Her daughters will tell you that she was an incredibly strong woman who loved her family above all things and that her family was her whole world.
Left to cherish her memory and continue her legacy are her daughter Charlotte Erickson and her husband, Glenn of Mena, Arkansas, daughter Patricia Whitfield and her husband, Jeff of North Little Rock, Arkansas, son Thomas Weddle and his wife, Monica of Sherwood, Arkansas; her grandchildren: Rebekka and Daniel Davis, Shelbie and Chris Jahns, Lexi Jackson, Raeghan Weddle, Riley Weddle, Rachael Weddle, Kimberly Erickson, Zachary Weddle and Leah Weddle; Great-grandchildren Cayden, Adalynn and Jonah Davis and Maci Jahns. She also leaves her faithful and beloved companion, Honey. Joan was loved by all those who knew her and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
