While in college at Nicholls State University, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, he met his wife, Cherry, at church in Morgan City. After Fred’s college graduation he accepted a job selling insurance in Little Rock. Fred and Cherry were married for 54 years, raising three sons together while living in North Little Rock.

Passionate about helping individuals with disabilities, Fred also served with his fellow Civitans at the Little Rock Civitan Club and Civitian International.
Fred is survived by his wife Cherry; his three sons and daughters-in-law; Stacy and Sarah Norman of Auburn, AL, Chance and Christina Norman of Conway, Wade and Laura Norman of Alexandria, VA.
