Liz was one of my dearest friends.  We had a wonderful time together at church functions, scripture and bible studies.  There was nothing Liz would not do for me or anyone else.  We enjoyed our time with our grandson's who went to school together. Liz's grandson  Colton and my grandson Cole, went to all the school functions and Liz and I joined them.  After Liz went to Andover, we spoke several times everyday.  I will never forget her and I know she is happy now in Jesus's arms. I will miss you my dear friend.

After having our first pedicure together when she first moved into Andover this Mothers Day we got to go again together. She still absolutely hated having her feet messed with and was not wanting the picture but she did both because she knew it was something I wanted us to do together. 

When Maw first moved into Andover she feel and broke her wrist so we went to have pedicures to help feel better. She absolutely hated anyone touching her feet but she went along with it because she knew I wanted to have that done together. 

Liz, I know you and Mary Ellen are up there laughing 😃 now at us down here. You're where you've wanted to be for a while now. We love you like family. Ray and I are going to miss you a lot. You've been such an inspiration and I truly enjoyed taking you to church ⛪️.  And to Franke's cafeteria before they closed. I’m still here is what she would tell me every morning when I’d ask how she is doing. She’d always want a hug at breakfast and at lunch it was a thing of ours. I remember when the tornado hit us and she was walking down the hall as if nothing happened. Me and Molly took her with us to Mr. Jim’s room and we had her on the floor beside me. Well if you know Mr. Jim then you’d also know why she wanted duck tape and a sock 🤣 She kept telling me she could go back to her apartment because it was fine and nothing was going to happen. I couldn’t keep her there to save my life so yeah she left. I’m going to miss my outlaw 😞 

Aunt Liz was such a special Aunt. Loving, caring, and always there for me. Some of the special times we spent together were playing cards for hours, going out to eat and to the movies, or just sitting together talking and laughing. One of those favorite times was each Christmas  putting up her Christmas tree and wrapping presents. Another was a fun and crazy road trip to Mountain View, Arkansas where she enjoyed sharing stories of her earlier years. 

About three weeks ago, God gave Aunt Liz and I one more lasting memorable time together. Sitting in front of Andover, just doing our usual talking and laughing, enjoying each others company. That day will always be one of my fondest times shared with my wonderful Aunt Liz.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Parker's passing! Nancy and I were friends all through school at St. Theresa's and Mrs. Parker even took me, my brother and sister to school in the mornings. In the afternoon we took Nancy home or to her babysitters. I spent many weekends at her house in Wakefield sleeping over. She was a very very sweet lady and always so friendly when we saw her at church later when we were grown. Sending our love to Nancy and the rest of the family!

I don’t even know where to begin and have been so lost without her these past few days. This past week we had many talks and sometimes I think she was preparing me for her being gone. She told me of memories and stories. We talked family and special memories including “ out out brief candle” and my college days living with her. Growing up with her attending all my school functions and learning to play “spite and malice”, Mexican train dominoes, and how to flea market and distinguish depression glass types. The occasional reminder that my language is kinda salty sometimes and that I might consider going to confession before her memorial mass. She was more ready to leave this world to join her sisters and grandpa than I was for her to leave.  I don’t remember a time she wasn’t there, always just a phone call away or down the street.   She reminded me everyday this past week that she was truly the rock of our family but she was so tired and her body couldn’t keep up.  She was a very special lady and this was showed to me every time I stayed with her as residents, staff, caregivers, friends, and family would always be around her and she was known as being loved by all. She was so strong raising Aunt Nancy on her own and most of the time getting me thrown in the mix. I can’t remember ever hearing her saying she couldn’t do anything and if you told her she couldn’t do something it was almost like she took it as a challenge.   She was this tiny petite little lady but to me she will always be larger than life.

I am Rosemary Parker and I am married to Chuck Parker, Liz’s oldest son. Liz was such a sweet, loving, kind, caring, helpful and independent lady. God blessed me with the best mother in law that anyone could  ever ask for. She treated me like a daughter. I lost my mom in 2008 and Liz’s love meant so much to me.  I loved her and I am going to miss her dearly. I wish we had lived closer together so that I could have spent more time with her. 
This is a picture of Liz and me in our beautiful Downtown New Bern NC a day or so after Thanksgiving. She flew in to spend Thanksgiving  with us in 2017.  We had a wonderful time.

There are not enough words to describe how dear Liz was to my heart. Our strong friendship began in the mid-1990’s and continued through her time at the Diocese, her retirement and at Andover. 
Liz had such a generous, servant heart with a smile that would light up a room. She always made certain that people were comfortable and had whatever they needed - at work, home, or wherever she traveled. Liz had such a love and concern for others - no one was a stranger. She stayed connected by phone or in person. She was a great listener, enjoyed conversing on many different topics, and frequently we would completely lose track of time. I always enjoyed hearing about her travels and even shared a couple of trips with her in Arkansas.  What a delight. Her faith was very strong and we often read scriptures and prayed together. Toward the end, she always reminded me to pray for her - which I assured her was daily. Now she prays for each one of us until we meet again in heaven.

Aunt Liz was a VERY FINE LADY! dedicated to her family  and  church.  I remember when uncle Charles and aunt Liz were married in Conway. They drove away with a lot of well wishes marked with soap and and a very impressive  string of tin cans trailing behind .  Aunt Liz helped me with my college papers and refused any payment. I recall a Sunday lunch  hosted buy Aunt Liz and Uncle Charles when I was very young. She fixed daddy  one hell of a drink and served green potato chips! I always admired Aunt  Liz ability to raise a very good family  after Uncle Charles passed.

I wanted to share the video of Liz walking into her surprise 89th birthday party, July 2022. It was arranged by 2 people who have been so wonderful to her, Doug and Cindy. The party was attended by members of her Catholic Daughters and Bible study groups. I met Liz when she volunteered at St Theresa to count the collection money. She always had a Carmel Mocha latte from McDonald’s to drink. She was such a sweet lady and I am glad I knew her. I am praying for those grieving her loss.

I’ll miss you Aunt Liz. You were my godmother. Hope you’re at peace now. Say hi to my mom for me in heaven!

Liz was my godmother. She and my mom, Carolyn Cahill, worked together at the Realtors Association. Mom talks of her often. We looked at Andover for mom because Ms. Parker was there. The last time I saw her was when I took them to the airport for the Catholic Daughters trip to Canada.   She will be missed by many!

Margaret (Cahill) LeClair

I am the oldest son of Liz, my mom. All of my memories of my Mom were of a strong woman that was a Mother first. She was working Mom when that was not the norm. She had to balance taking care of us and work when it was not common to do that in the working world. She Always took care of us first. She worked for the Arkansas Real Estate Commission and for the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock. Later in life she did volunteer work at ST Theresa Church in LR. Mom loved to travel and that she did for many years, even to Rome to visit the Pope. One of her last trips was to here to NC for Thanksgiving about 5 years ago. Going to upload some of those pics on the site. After Dad passed, she still had my brother and sister to parent. I was in college already, but she still took care of me. In fact, she became a Mom to and entire college basketball team. She would cook food and sweets for the team and bring them to home games. All the guys looked forward to her and Nancy coming as they knew they were going to eat well. Coach said she made us fat! He laughed saying that as he also knew that we won all the games they came to.
As life progressed, she became a grandmother to 8 grandchildren, she spoiled them all. All loved MAW.  Work took me further and further away from home, so my visits became fewer. About 4 years ago things got to the point with Mom that we had to put her in assisted living. Coming home for that was tough as all of my memories were of a strong independent woman that did not need any help. We moved her into Andover and that was a good move. She was well taken care of there, even with all of the challenges of her illness. She was with people, made friends, and all enjoyed her being there.
My last trip home two weeks ago was bittersweet. Coming to see my Mom, but knowing it was probably going to be the last time I was going to be with her. Luv you Mom and I miss you.

We were so sorry to hear of Liz’s passing. I’m so glad I got to hug her and tell her we loved her the week before at Andover. I had no idea it would be the last time we would see her. She was always so thankful when we would give her a hug and visit with her at Andover. We met her over a year ago when my MIL moved in.
She is at peace now and she was ready.



For almost 45 years Liz and I have been friends. Our birthdays were a day apart, so for a good number of those years, we would meet for a birthday lunch. When Liz moved to Andover Place I would  enjoy spending an hour or so visiting with her recalling our history.  Liz was always trying to stay active and organized and we had our laughs.  Her mind was slipping and it frustrated her but she was always trying to make the best of it.  She always had to walk me to my car and wave me off.  I missed being in contact with Liz for the last 3 months due to results of the tornado March 31st.  I was finally ready to contact Liz again and her phone was not working. I called Andover and they informed me that she had passed the day before.  I am so sad at losing my friend….but I know she is where she has been anxious to be!  Besides she told me so many times, “I have a few things to say to Charlie about leaving me so soon “.  Have at Liz!
