There is nothing more precious or cherished than the unconditional love of a wife, mother, and grandmother. Debora Ann Rozzell, 66, of North Little Rock, left to be with her Heavenly Father on August 20, 2021. She was a rare woman who when asked how she was doing gave an honest and complete answer. She was a loyal friend who truly cared and always put others first.
Born in Murfreesboro, Tenn., to Lt. Col. Charles H. Norvell and Carolyn Martini Norvell, she traveled the world with her Air Force family. During that time, she called Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky, New York, Virginia, and Taiwan home. After high school, her family moved to North Little Rock where she met her life’s match, George M. Rozzell, III, while lifeguarding at North Hills Country Club. Legend is he faked an injury to get her attention. It worked.
A graduate of UALR, she turned her passion for volunteering into a career at North Little Rock School District. As a member of Park Hill Christian Church, she served as secretary, elder, and board chair, and made life-long friends. When she wasn’t serving her community, she enjoyed theater, her book club, and bunko with friends. Otherwise, she was traveling to visit friends and family, New York City, or Sanibel Island, Fla. Everyone will surely miss her kind heart, cooking, party planning, love of tradition, and oversized laugh. We can all rejoice that she is now laughing with God.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and grandson, Owen. Debbie is survived by her husband of 46 years, George Rozzell; children, George “Mickey” (Amber) of Fayetteville, Sara of North Little Rock, and Matt (Julie) of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Noah, Margot, Graham, and Eliza; sister, Donna Frizzell, and brother, Rolf Norvell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Michigan State University’s Scleroderma Fund, the American Cancer Society, or Park Hill Christian Church
