David Earl Cole, 77, peacefully departed this world on April 5, surrounded by family. He was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
He was born July 20, 1945, in Boonsboro, Maryland to Louis and Mary (Moats) Cole.
David joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and proudly served 20 years. He retired in 1985 as a Master Sergeant, earning several military awards and proudly serving in Vietnam. He was a carpenter by trade after retiring from the military. He built homes from ground to turnkey, cabinets, and furniture.
He married the love of his life, Mary (Wilson McConnell) Cole on April 27, 1968, in Braintree Essex England.
Revered as a proud, compassionate, friendly, and loving man, David loved working on cars, camping, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cole of Jacksonville, Arkansas; his children, David W.A. Cole of Jacksonville, Alabama; Elaine Snode of Westcliff on Sea England; Robert E. Cole of Batesville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Francis Cole, Mary Umland, Catherine Fowler, Lena Eavery, Sonny (Louie) Cole.
A graveside service with full military honors is scheduled for 1 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023, at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers his family suggest donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Arkansas Hospice in David’s honor.
